Roots, Rhythm & Rhyme is a year long community outreach program for youth incorporating our Roots, Rhythm and Rhyme. It is comprised of after-school and Saturday classes, both on-site at the Global Education Center and off-site at various schools and community organizations, offering drum and dance from around the world. The summer session is our annual Summer Multicultural Arts Camp in which students study drum, dance and traditional arts from close to thirty cultures - one of the most fun components of the program. Roots, Rhythm & Rhyme is made possible with project support from the Tennessee Arts Commission, National Endowment for the Arts, and The Nissan Foundation. STAY TUNED FOR SUMMER CAMP 2026 SCHEDULE which, for the first time, will be a half-day camp rather than full day.

The ROOTS of the program come from our diversity in cultures to which students are introduced and that we celebrate every day at Global Education Center. Each class is taught by an instructor who not only teaches the art form aesthetically but also academically to immerse each participant in a new culture and an experience to become aware of our similarities rather than our differences.
