Join Global Education Center as we present our March Line Breaks Literary Reading Series event,  Soul Story: Tales of Love and Freedom on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 7:30 pm. This event will feature the storytelling of Tasneem Grace Tewogbola and the djembe rhythms of Maria Estes "Djembe Queen" Hall. 

Tasneem is the co-founder of Soul Story, an innovative arts enterprise that uses storytelling as a bridge for intercultural connection, joy and education. The eldest daughter of professional storytellers, Tasneem and her siblings were raised on West African and African American tales that taught the values of vision and faith, love and liberation, community and character.

Global Education Center’s Line Breaks Literary Reading Series is dedicated to build ing bridges of understanding between people of diverse cultures using poetry as the catalyst. The series is held October through May and offers a broad range of readings, performances, workshops, and lectures featuring some of the nation’s most compelling literary voices.

Global Education Center is located on the corner of Charlotte Ave. and 49th Ave. Street parking is available as well as parking across the street at Richland Park. Public transportation is also available with a Metro bus stop directly in front of our location.

About Tasneem Grace Tewogbola

Tasneem Grace Tewogbola tells stories of global connection and universoul life lessons. She is the co-founder of Soul Story, an innovative arts enterprise that uses storytelling as a bridge for intercultural connection, joy and education. The eldest daughter of professional storytellers, Tasneem and her siblings were raised on West African and African American tales that taught the values of vision and faith, love and liberation, community and character. She has shared stories at the Frist Center for Visual Arts, in classrooms with Metro Nashville Public Schools, the Nashville Public Library and community gatherings in Nashville, Central New York and Central America. Today, Tasneem designs public programs with the Nashville Public Library’s Civil Rights Room where she has the honor of connecting local history to contemporary and international stories of revolution. She first moved to Nashville in 1999 to work as a reporter at The Tennessean. She and her family returned to Nashville in 2012 – after living in Syracuse, NY and Belize, Central America. She enjoys reading, writing, growing vegetables, running and cooking a mean pot of greens. Tasneem and her husband, Zuberi, are parents of five daughters who love to travel and keep their home in party mode.
