WE HAVE STARTED A FUNDRAISER TO HELP SUPPORT OUR GRAND OLD BUILDINGS - RICHLAND HALL, WHICH OPENED IN 1894, and one of the original HG HILL STORES, OPENED IN 1901. THESE BEAUTIFUL HISTORIC BUILDINGS HAVE SOME NEEDS - WHICH WE ALL MAY HAVE WHEN WE ARE OVER 130 YEARS OLD. BUILDING NEEDS INCLUDE A NEW ROOF ON RICHLAND HALL AND A NEW HVAC UNIT IN THE HILL BUILDING, AND OF COURSE SOME MINOR REPAIRS LIKE REPLACING LIGHTS, NEW COATS OF PAINT, AND SO FORTH. IF YOU ARE WILLING AND ABLE, PLEASE JOIN US IN OUR QUEST BY DONATING TO OUR RAISE THE ROOF CAMPAIGN HERE:
As you may or may not know, Global Education Center is home to 42 performing arts groups and over 100 artists representing over 30 cultural/ethnic/racial identities. In addition to our extensive work in area schools and out in the community, we open our doors daily for classes, workshops, after-school activities, social dances, film screenings, poetry readings, community meals and dialogues, as well as to many local artists and organizations who need a space to share their talents. We love our historic home, funky as it may be, and we love our Global Family, which is why we want to make our needed repairs to ensure we will be around for at least another 30 years. The first 30 have been AMAZING!!!!
Many thanks to our sponsors - individuals, corporations, foundations, and government sources. Our last major campaign supported our Black Arts in America programming with special support for our four-day Black Dance Festival. If you wish to join our list of program sponsors, please contact our director at 615-292-3023 or [email protected]. Or just spread a little monetary love here!
Check out the amazing programming we created with our last online fundraiser, all of which would not have been possible without our grand old buildings! And don't forget to check out our upcoming programming for 2026-2027.
