With your help, we can raise $30,000 to ensure our multicultural arts programming stays in Middle Tennessee schools and our community, equipping children, parents, teachers, and individuals with the understanding they need to build cross-cultural bridges, creating a better future for all. Thank you to all of you beloved members of our Global family. We are closing out our 29th year of bringing the arts of the world to our community, and we can't wait to see you in our studios, at our concerts, films, or poetry events, or out in the community! We are, of course, in area schools - Metro and surrounding counties - as we continue to fulfill our mission to use the arts of diverse cultures to highlight our commonalities and promote cross-cultural understanding and respect. When we get to know one another and understand the commonalities of our stories, our struggles, and our journeys, we can't help but become united in working toward the common good for all!
GIVING TUESDAY EVENTS FOR 2025

For Giving Tuesday (December 2, 2025) until year's end, we created some fun ways for you to pay it forward by giving back, ensuring that Global Education Center is here to serve for generations to come. We are kicking off our season of giving on December 2 from at 7:00 pm with our fun and funny Retro Fitness Fun event where Global artists will become some of the great fitness gurus of the 80s: come warmup with Olivia Newton John's Let's Get Physical with Shabaz; try a retro workout with our very realistic Richard Simmons, Alejandro; try some step aerobics with Global's own Jane Fonda impersonator, Summer; kick it out with Global's Tae Bo Billy Blanks, Spidey; and wind it down with a crazy Suzanne Somers Thigh Master workout with our very own Shelby.
We are hosting one of our celebratory World Dance Party on December 30, 2025 from 7 to 9 pm where folks can warm up with SharQui Belly Dance Workout with Tirra; try Bollywood with Bhushan, Latin with Alejandro; and close it out with Afro Dance with Tirra and Nyama drummers, all for a donation!
On the Tuesdays in between (December 9, 16, and 23 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm), we are hosting some fun family gift-making events where children and youth and their families can paint a flower pot and plant an aloe cutting, paint a canvas tote bag or apron, create a winter landscape painting - all great gifts to share with family and friends.
We also have our annual Festivals of Light program - a free family festival (with donations graciously accepted) on December 6 from 1pm to 4pm at Global Education Center. Come learn about the commonalities we all share as we explore a few of our family and community holidays that center the importance of light. We all have more in common than we think, and it is always fun and community-building to share our stories and traditions. While it was not really a fundraising event, we always hope to garner new friends who will invest in our future. Check out the slideshow that shares a bit of our fun at Festival of Lights 2024.
And our Latin dance community will host their annual DanceGiving Social on November 29 to benefit Global Education Center (typically raising over $1,800 each year). We LOVE our Latin Dance Community!

Grassroots Global Giving: Create a Beloved Community for All - GOAL: equivalent of 1,000 donors @ $30 each
This is a fun opportunity for members of our Global family to join in celebrating our 29 years by giving what you can and asking friends and family to join our campaign to garner 1,000 donors as we strive for our $30,000 goal for 2024-2025.
Become a recurring donor - 100 recurring monthly donors is our goal
We realize that to remain sustainable, we need a solid core of supporters who give a monthly amount that we can count on through the good times and the challenging times. Due to some snafu's in local government funding for the past two fiscal years, we find we are ending this year in challenging times, so . . . we are looking for folks who believe in our mission enough to become a recurring donor of any amount!
Become a Global member at the $50 or higher level
Global has many different levels of membership, from $50 to $250 and even a $500 corporate level. We would love to celebrate this year with at least 50 new members. While memberships bring discounts to some of our programming, the main purpose of our membership is to support our mission to use the arts of diverse cultures to highlight our commonalities and promote cross-cultural understanding and respect.
Volunteer
Our home in West Nashville was built in 1894 and 1902 and is on the Historic Register. We love our home with all of its antique quirkiness and welcoming vibe. However, it is showing its age with all of its squeaks, creaks, cracks, and sags. All it needs is a little TLC, but it is beyond our budget during these challenging post-pandemic times. We would love some volunteers: Carpenters***Electricians***Painters***Plumbers***Gardeners***HVAC Specialists
